Chiang Mai Trip - Day 1

After more than half a year of wait, it was finally time to be heading to Chiang Mai, Thailand!

My boyf and I bought the tickets on promotion and it costs us about RM1,200 for 5D4N stay in We Valley Boutique Hotel, with Air Asia flight to & fro of course.

For us, that was a pretty good deal, RM600 for 4nights hotel and flights, ain't so bad :)

So, off we went!

Last Saturday, we got to KLIA 2, boarded the plane and we're off!
(yada yada yada, 2 hours and 35 minutes later, we arrived safely!)

This being the 4th time in Thailand in 2 years, (can't you tell how much I love Thailand?),
Like all of you who has been to Thailand before... it's clean, people are nice, and everything is cheap!

We had arranged for a free shuttle to our hotel beforehand,
Got to the hotel, checked in, washed up a little and out we go!
We took a songthaew/ red taxi (below pic) to Sukontha Buffet.

Of course the one we rode is not this packed =p
* Always keep in mind that red taxis like this are cheaper than tuk tuk!

Sukontha Buffet - Located at Hueykaew Road (nearby MAYA shopping mall)

This place is the well known buffet that could sit up to hundreds (maybe thousands) at once.
They serve an array of seafood, beef, pork, chicken for you to bbq (self service), they also prepare cooked foods such as fried rice, fried pork, french fries, chicken wings etc.
It's a place for everyone!

However, this place isn't for our Muslim friends because they serve pork.
If you've been to BarBQ Plaza, it's that kind of cooker they're using (as my pic below).

This thing is called a mookata,
you have to use pork lard as the oil base to cook else your food is gonna be charcoally HOHO

Yeeupp, that's the crowd here.
Locals come here and enjoy too, but not to worry, the place sits like hundreds at a time.
But you may have a hard time picking the food you want as there are a lot of people!

The selections... geeez.
2 hours later, we were stuffed!

After dinner, we took a tuk tuk back to the hotel and rest for the day,
Stay tuned for Day 2 - Let's cook up some fun!
